The vocal parts of
Edition
1 are based on a public domain version of the sheet music available
on-line
at CPDL (edition
#286). The vocal parts of Edition 2 have been obtained from
Edition 1 by comparison with the Neue Mozart-Ausgabe (NMA) available
on-line
at http://dme.mozarteum.at
. Several differences exist between the two editions, both about notes
and especially about lyrics. They are listed hereinbelow. Soprano Measure 19 (solo): the third note is C in Edition 1, while it is B in Edition 2. Measure 24 to 26: in Edition 2, the last syllable of measure 24 (“Al”) is sung also on the first three notes of measure 25, then “le” and “lu” are sung on the fourth and fifth (last) note of measure 25, with “ja” on the first note of measure 26. Then Al-le-lu-ja is sung from the second to the fifth note of measure 26, one syllable per note. Measure 28 to 30: in Edition 2, the last syllable of measure 28 (“Al”) is sung also on the first three notes of measure 29, then “le” and “lu” are on the fourth anf fifth (last) note of measure 29, with “ja” on the first note of measure 30. Then Al-le-lu-ja is sung from the second to the fifth note of measure 30, one syllable per note. Measure 72 to 74: in Edition 2 the syllables “o-ra pro no-bis” are replaced by “pro no-bis De-um” respectively. Measure 127 to 129: in Edition 2 the syllables “o-ra pro no-bis” are replaced by “pro no-bis De-um” respectively. Measure 135 to 136: in Edition 2 the syllables “o-ra pro no-bis” are replaced by “pro no-bis De-um” respectively. Measure 156: in Edition 1 the last note (1/4, tied to the previous half note) is a C, while in Edition 2 it's a E (higher). Alto Measure 12: in Edition 2 the duration of the second note (F#) is 1/4, while in Edition 1 it is 1/8 followed by 1/8 rest. Syllables “coe-li lae-ta-re” of Edition 1 are replaced, in Edition 2, by “Al” (two notes, G and F#) and then “le-lu-ja” on the following notes (C, B, B). Measure 18 to 20: the syllables “lae-ta-re, lae-ta-re, re-gi-na coe-li” beginning at the end of measure 18 in Edition 1 are replaced, in Edition 2, by “re-gi-na coe-li, re-gi-na, lae-ta-re” respectively. Measure 24 to 26: in Edition 2 the last syllable of measure 24 (“Al”) is sung also on the first three notes of measure 25, then “le” and “lu” are on the fourth anf fifth (last) note of measure 25, with “ja” on the first note of measure 26. Then Al-le-lu-ja is sung from the second to the fifth note of measure 26, one syllable per note. Measure 28 to 30: in Edition 2 the last syllable of measure 28 (“Al”) is sung also on the first three notes of measure 29, then “le” and “lu” are on the fourth anf fifth (last) note of measure 29, with “ja” on the first note of measure 30. Then Al-le-lu-ja is sung from the second to the fifth note of measure 30, one syllable per note. Measure 83: in Edition 2 the syllables “gi-” (two notes, B and C) “-na coe-li” are replaced by “gi-“ (on B), “na” (on C), “lae-ta-re” respectively. Measure 89 to 91: in Edition 2 the last syllable of measure 89 (“Al”) is sung also on the first three notes of measure 90, then “le” is on the fourth and “lu” is on the fifth and sixth note of measure 90, with “ja” on the first note of measure 91. Then the third note of measure 91 (G, 1/4) is divided into two 1/8 notes, and Al-le-lu-ja is sung from the second to the fifth note, one syllable per note. Measure 127 to 129: in Edition 2 the syllables “o-ra pro no-bis” are replaced by “pro no-bis De-um” respectively. Measure 140 and 141: in Edition 2 the syllable “al-“ on the second note of measure 140 (G) is sung throughout the first note of measure 141, then the syllable “le-“ is sung on the second note (G), “lu-“ on the third (F) and fourth (D) note, “ja” on the fifth (C). The last note of the measure (G, 1/4) is divided into two 1/8 G notes, and syllables “al-le-lu” are sung on A, G, G. Measure 156: in Edition 1 the last note (1/4, tied to the previous half note) is a E, while in Edition 2 it's a G (higher). Tenor Measure 1: in Edition 1 the last note is G, while it is C (higher) in Edition 2. Measure 24 to 26: in Edition 2 the last syllable of measure 24 (“Al”) is sung also on the first three notes of measure 25, then “le” and “lu” are on the fourth anf fifth (last) note of measure 25, with “ja” on the first note of measure 26. Then Al-le-lu-ja is sung from the second to the fifth note of measure 26, one syllable per note. Measure 140 and 141: in Edition 2 the syllable “al-“ on the third note of measure 140 (E) is sung throughout the first note of measure 141, then the syllable “le-“ is sung on the second note (E), “lu-“ on the third (D) and fourth (B) note, “ja” on the fifth (C). The syllables “al-le-lu” are sung on the remaining notes (F, E, D). Measure 144: in Edition 2 the note with the syllable “le” (1/4, C) is divided into two 1/8 notes; the syllable “le” is sung on the first one, while the syllable “lu” is moved to the second note, and then sung throughout the last note of the measure. Bass Measure 116: in Edition 2 the last note of the measure is 1/4 followed by a 1/2 rest, while in Edition 1 it is 1/2 followed by a 1/4 rest. Measure 143 and 144: in Edition 1 the syllable “le” is at the end of measure 143, while it is moved to the first note of measure 144 in Edition 2, and syllables “lu-“ and “ja” go to the second and third note of measure 144. Then, in Edition 2, the last note of the measure 144 (1/4, G) is divided into two 1/8 notes, and the syllables “al-le-lu” go on the last three resulting notes of the measure. |
